Getting to know the PSNP (Paul Bowman)

Posted: September 10, 2011 in PSNP

*This is the first of a series of interviews with PSNP members*

1) What is your current profession?

I am a Community Safety Patrol Officer (CSPO)

2) How did you get the job?

I applied for it after it was advertised in a local paper. I was invited to an interview and later received a phone call saying I had got the job.

3) Describe a typical day for you?

My typical day would include an 11 hour shift, and high visibility patrols of Popley on a mountain bike. I can deal with anything from a fly tip on the street, to youths underage drinking in the street.

4) What has been your most memorable experience working for the council?

Working in Winchester for the homecoming parade through the high street. It was good to be a part of it. A really enjoyable day at work.

5) What’s been your most embarrassing moment?

Working at Wickham horse fair on a traffic point, turning a Stop and Go sign for several hours.

6) What is your best quality?

Being able to work with young people on the street.

7) What is your worst quality?

Being vocal in meetings and also minute taking.

8) What is your dream job?

My Dream Job would be to be a presenter on Top Gear.

9) If you could go back in time, where would you go?

I would Go to Istanbul in 2005 for the champions league final and witnessing the greatest football game of all time. Liverpool beat Ac Milan on penalties after being 3 – 0 down at half time.

10) What would you spend a lottery win on?

Depends on how much win, if it was £166 million then I would buy a massive garage and have about 30 cars, motorbikes and jet skis. As well as houses, yachts, clothes, restaurants and maybe a helicopter for good measure.

11) Tell us one thing about yourself that nobody else would know?

That’s for me to know and hopefully no one to find out!
